About Our Zipper Repair & Replacement Service
A failed zipper is the single most common reason a perfectly good suitcase gets thrown away. In most cases the coil or teeth are fine and the culprit is a worn slider that no longer pinches the two halves together. We diagnose the actual cause before we quote, so you never pay for a full zipper replacement when a slider swap will do.
Our Thornton workshop stocks YKK and equivalent heavy-duty sliders, pulls and coil in the common #5, #8 and #10 sizes used by Samsonite, Travelpro, Tumi, Delsey, Away and most other brands. When a full track needs to come out, we unpick the original stitching, install new coil and re-sew along the factory seam line so the repair is invisible from the outside.

Can you repair a zipper that has come apart behind the slider?
Yes. Nine times out of ten this is a stretched slider, not a damaged track. Replacing the slider restores full closure.
Do you match the original zipper color?
We stock black, navy, grey, brown and tan coil and a range of slider finishes. For unusual colors we can usually order matching coil within a week.
Is a zipper repair worth it on an inexpensive suitcase?
Often, yes. A slider replacement costs a fraction of a new bag and takes minutes. We'll tell you honestly if a repair doesn't make financial sense.
